General Information for Sisu Skills Centre

English and Afrikaans dual medium training classes.

Maximum 10 trainees in a group. With a trainer and assistant.

Centre Training Times: 08:30 – 14:00, Monday to Friday.

Two-week placement observation before intake.

Sisu Skills Centre

Our curriculum is best suited for individuals who:

16 - 35 year old

Our curriculum is tailored for neurodiverse individuals aged 16 to 35, providing essential support, guidance, and resources to help them navigate the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood and achieve their personal, educational, and vocational goals.

Has Autism or related diagnosis

Our curriculum, informed by evidence-based practices, is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions, empowering them to build on their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve their full potential in academics, social skills, communication, and independence.

Able to work in small groups

Our curriculum, designed for small group settings, fosters personalised attention, peer interaction, and collaborative learning experiences, while also offering individualised instruction to support active engagement, meaningful participation, and the development of social, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Behavioural Challengees are managed

Our curriculum employs a positive behaviour support approach, focusing on understanding and proactively addressing behavioural challenges through individualised plans tailored to promote positive behaviours, reduce challenges, teach coping strategies, and foster emotional well-being, creating a supportive and empowering learning environment.

Able to communicate (verbal or AAC)

Our curriculum is designed to support individuals who are able to communicate their immediate needs, either verbally or through the use of an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system, and can follow basic verbal instructions.
